The Four Great Kings

which are four, are FOUR KINGS, which shall arise out of the earth.” Daniel 7:17 (KJV). From Babylon I am going illustrate the change through the bible from the book of Daniel chapter two and seven because they point out the same thing and event.

You can hardly explain one without the other. Let us look closely at king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and the interpretation thereof. In Daniel 7:1-49 (KJV) We read that king Nebuchadnezzar in his dream saw a great image in verse 32, whose “head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, verse 33 his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.”

In Daniel 7:2-7 we read “Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. Now, notice verse 4 The first was like a lion,” Verse 5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, verse 6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, verse 7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had TEN HORNS. verse 17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. (KJV).From the island of Patmos, let us take the illustration from the bible book of revelation 13:1-3.

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” (KJV).

Let us chronologically check how these great kings came into fulfillment of the bible prophecy. (A) In Daniel 2:32 the image HEAD of GOLD. In Daniel 7:4, the FIRST BEAST was like Lion and had TWO WINGS. This represented the empire of BABYLON from 606 B.C. to 538 B.C. Daniel 2 37, 38” … Thou art this head of Gold. (B) In Daniel 2:32 the image had BREAST and ARMS of SILVER. In Daniel 7:5, the SECONED BEAST was like a BEAR and had THREE RIBS. This represented MEDO PERSIA from536 . B.C. to 331 B.C. Daniel 2:39; Daniel 5:28 “PER-RES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. (KJV) Daniel 8:28. (C) In Daniel 2:32 the image had BELLY and THIGH of BRASS.

In Daniel 7:6 the Beast was like a LEOPARD. It had FOUR HEAD and FOUR WINGS. This represented the empire of GREECE from 331 B.C. to 168B.C. Daniel 2:39 “… Another kingdom of brass which shall rule over the earth.” Daniel 8:21-23. From history we recall that when Alexander the great died at the age of 31 his kingdom was divided amongst his four generals (four heads), who not as powerful as he was;”…Whereas four stood for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.” Daniel 8:22 (KJV).

The four generals were (1) PTOLEMY, who took over Egypt (2) CASSEANDER, who took over Macedonia (3) SECLEUCUS, who took over Persia and Syria and (4) LYSIMACHUS, who took over Thrace. (D) In Daniel 2:33 the image had LEGS of IRON. It had TEN TOES. The FEET where partly IRON and partly CLAY. In Daniel 7:7 the FOURTH BEAST was indescribable and had TEN HORNS. This represented the Pagan Roman Empire from 168 B.C. to 476 A.D. Daniel 2:40-43; Daniel 8:23-25. faith-word

When The Sabbath Was Changed To Sunday

(faith in god)The law had to be in existence before sin or there would have been no sin. “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.” Rom. 7:7 (KJV).

Sin is define by law. The formal giving of the law at Sinai was a reiteration of the great principles established from eternity. Two great spiritual truth are involved in the keeping of the law: 1. We are not saved by law keeping, but by God’s grace, and 2. Those who have been saved are those who receive the law and by God’s grace, obey it. “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15 (KJV).

And “The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day. Deut. 5:3 (KJV).” During the Christians dispensation , The great enemy of man’s happiness has made the Sabbath of the fourth commandment’ an object of special attack” Satan says,

“ I will work cross purpose with God. I will empower my followers to set aside God’s memorial the seventh day Sabbath. Thus I will show the world that the day sanctified and blessed by God has been changed. That day shall not live in the minds of the people. I will obliterate the memory of it. I will place in its stead a day that does not ear the credentials of God, a day that cannot be sign between God and His people. I will lead those who accept this day to place upon it the sanctity that God placed on the seventh day…
Human laws will e made so stringent that men and women will not dare to observe the seventh day Sabbath. For fear of wanting food and clothing, they will join with the world in transgressing God’s law. The earth will be wholly under my (Satan’s) dominion. “prophets and kings 1917, pages 183, 184. To secure popularity and patronage, legislators will yield to the demand for a Sunday law, 5T451 And on May 29 1961, the supreme court of the United States, by a majority vote handed down a decision of historic importance, particularly from the prophetic point of view. It declared that Sunday laws are civil, not religious, in nature, and therefore are constitutional.

God says “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalms 89:34 (KJV). But let us look at these amazing facts. Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, 1977, page 50 “QUESTION: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? ANSWER: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the catholic church in the council of Laodicia , A.D.336, transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday. Catholic mirror, September 23, 1893. “The catholic by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.” (faith-word)

Figurative language of the Bible

The Bible contains some of figurative language.
A lot of confusion is caused when literal passages of scripture are mistakenly understood figuratively, and the same holds of true for Scripture that is interpreted as literal, when it is obviously figurative in nature. So what is figurative language in the bible? FAITH-WORD

How can we recognize it when we find it? Simply put, figurative language, or a “figure of speech” occurs when we use words in a different sense from that which is ordinarily given them. Figures of speech are used to give emphasis and to add attraction and Variety to human expression.

It is important to note that they are never used for the purpose of doing away with literal truth. Instead, figure of speech set forth literal truth in another form than that in which it could be literally expressed. What we’re looking for is the literal truth found in the figurative language. Above all, we must permit figure of speech to do away with the intended truth.

If we fail to understand the literal truth expressed by the figure of speech, then it has failed in it purpose. Now that we understand figure of speech, how can we tell whether a particular statement is intended to be understood literally or figuratively? It’s easy!

There is a fundamental rule to keep in mind when determining whether the language is literal or figurative: Every statement in the bible is to e understood literally, when at all possible, and where it is clear that it is literal; otherwise, it is figurative. In other words, what cannot be literal must be figurative.
The subject matter itself will always make this clear. There are two kinds of figures of speech we find in the bible: first, there are those involving only a word, as in Gal. 2:9 where Peter, James, and John are called “pillars” of the church; second, there are those involving a thought expressed in several words or sentences, such as the parable, allegory, symbol, type, riddle, fable, and enigma.
