But the bible says, and rightfully by Jesus Himself in: Matthew 23:9 “And call no man your father upon the earth: for is your Father, which is in heaven.” (KJV)
And the apostle Peter himself whom the catholic church claims the pope succeeded rejected this honour from Cornelius as the bible says in Acts 10:25, 26 “and as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet, and worshiped  him. But Peter took him up, saying, stand up; I myself also am a man.” 
Have you seen that we should not bow down to worship anybody” (Exodus 20:5 Rev. 19:10, Matt.4:10,) even the pope of who claims to be the successor of St. Peter and the Vicar of Christ.
