(faith-word) Let us look at Daniel 7:8 “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up.” This little horn that came up after the ten division of Roman Empire was none other than the Papal power-Papal Rome. Papal Rome arose and demanded all these ten kingdoms worship and bow down to the authority of Papal Rome.
But there were three of these nations that would not adhere to the Papal command. Justinian sent his great general, Belisarius, to uproot the Ostrogoths (which was the l-st of these three nations) in A.D. 538. This brought the astonishing fulfillment of the bible prophecy in Daniel 7:2… “And another (head) shall rise after them (the fisrt ten kings); and he shall be diverse (religious head) from the first, and he shall subdue THREE KINGS.”
History confirms the bible prophecy by recording these facts. The Roman army literally wipeout these three nations.
(A) The first nation was HERULI in northern Italy in A.D. 493.
(B) The second nation was VANDALS in northern Africa in A.D. 534.
(C) The third nation was OSTROGOTHS in northern Portugal in A.D. 538.
At this time, the Papal power gained supremacy. Now how we rightfully identify the little horn of Daniel 7:8 as Papal ROME? Let us see. Bear in mind that the seat of any government is its capitol or capital; history records the astounding fact that in A.D.330 Constantine, a great Roman Emperor, move his capitol from Rome on the Tigris River to the possession of the Bosporus.
He called his city the city of Constantinople or the city of Constantine. In A.D.323, seven years earlier, Constantine had professed to be a Christian convert. The bible says in Revelation 13:2 “And the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” (KJV). So, you see, the devil gave power to pagan Rome and pagan Rome set up the capitol of papal Rome.
Today that city is called Istanbul and it is now located in what we call Vatican city. Just as the bible revealed, pagan Rome gave papal Rome its seat, power and great authority and devil was the one who gave it to all of them initially. The Vatican city is still in operation today. (faith-word)
